One Million Acts of Kindness feature story about Chicago Bulls' C.J. Watson and the Quiet Storm Foundation.

The Quiet Storm is one of five select foundations being profiled as part of the One Million Acts of Kindness Holiday Campaign from November 8 - December 15, 2010.

The special campaign acknowledges the behind-the-scenes contributions and efforts of our top athletes, and while no one contribution is better or bigger than another, we will celebrate the season by showcasing one foundation each week during this season of giving.

Hoops for Hope Las Vegas 2010

C.J.Watson's Hoop for Hope Youth Basketball Camp and Parent Workshop, 15-17 July 2010, was a grand sucess. We registered 200 applicants and 185 youth participated, and over 50 parents participated in the workshop. The camp featured past, present, and new National Basketball Association Players, notables included All-Star and Legend Spencer Haywood, and Memphis Grizzles coach and manager. All of these celebrities offered youth great advice about playing the game, dealing with all of the liabilities and benefits of the game, and real life expectations. They also shared exercises and tips, plus provided coaching during team scrimmages. The camp also featured local leaders from the police and fire departments, Commissioner Lawrence Weekly, and Councilman Ricki Barlow, Quiet Storm Board Members, and dieticians who advised the youth regarding good decision making anecdotes and case studies.

During the Parent Workshop, presenters shared information that included: material and sports gear from UNLV, Nevada High School Proficiency Examination Program, Simplified College Recruiting Facts, Helping Students Make Better Life Choices, Guide for College-Bound Student-Athletes, Youth Choices Program Materials from the "Hope for the World Conference," February 2010, and provided the booklet, "The Path to College," published by Senator Harry Reid, Nevada Majority Leader.

The camp ended with a ceremonial camp completion certificate presentation and congratulations from C.J.Watson.
